We’re determined to solve the problem of hair thinning and loss
The future of hair is here, designed by scientists to address the root cause of hair thinning and loss. CosmeRNA’s story began with a team of dedicated scientists and researchers at Bioneer and Sirnagen who were determined to solve the problem of hair thinning and loss in both women and men
How it started
The CosmeRNA R&D team is a group of functional cosmetics developers at Bioneer Research Institute, consisting of around 200 researchers. Bioneer is a company that was established in 1992, specializing in DNA synthesis and PCR technology. In 2001, the Bioneer research team started working on siRNA research. They developed a synthesis system capable of synthesizing 384 RNAs simultaneously and used it to create a human gene siRNA library. They further researched human applications and developed a range of non-toxic siRNA that can be efficiently delivered to cells in vivo, leading to the invention of SAMiRNA. By researching various SAMiRNA derivatives, they developed a SAMiRNA that is approximately 100 nm in size and can be efficiently delivered to hair follicles.
Years of innovation
To treat AGA (androgenetic alopecia), it is necessary to lower the elevated AR expression in hair follicles. After screening 547 candidate molecules in vitro, SAMiRNA-AR68 was selected. CosmeRNA-ARI, which contains SAMiRNA-AR68 as the main ingredient, was developed as a tonic. Its safety and efficacy were tested in clinical studies conducted in South Korea and Germany. Once its safety and effectiveness were confirmed, we launched the world's first RNAi-based hair-loss tonic. The CosmeRNA research team is dedicated to developing innovative solutions for hair loss and other cosmetic concerns.
